About Adult Disability Payment review decisions
Understanding a review decision
A new decision following a review is called a determination.
When Social Security Scotland confirm that they will make changes to your Adult Disability Payment, they'll let you know:
- what rate of Adult Disability Payment you’ll receive
- when your next review will take place
- whether your award will continue or stop
If the award will stop, reduce or increase following a review, Social Security Scotland will tell you why.
Indefinite awards
You may be given an indefinite award if:
- your needs are highly unlikely to change
- you're awarded the enhanced rate of both the daily living and mobility components of Adult Disability Payment
This means your award will not be reviewed in the future unless you tell us that something has changed.
How review decisions affect other benefits you get
If your award changes following a review, this could affect other benefits that you get.
You should tell them about changes to your Adult Disability Payment if you get benefits from any of these organisations:
- your local council
- HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC)
- Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
- Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA)
